Influential Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has claimed that the club skipper, Steven Gerrard, will not be rushed back and the medical team will asses Englishman’s condition before allowing him to play for the Anfield outfit.
Gerrard has been out of action since March, after the Englishman suffered a groin injury. He underwent an operation and was ruled out for more than six months.
The 31-year-old showed extraordinary recovery during the off season and was expected to make a return in the first week of August 2011.
However, the Reds skipper suffered another setback during his recovery process and was ruled out for further six months. Gerrard personally targeted the match against Tottenham Hotspur for his return. However, the English midfielder was not chosen by Kenny
Dalglish as he failed to pass the medical tests before the White Hart Lane fixture.
Gerrard is very close to his long-awaited return, however, Dalglish has insisted the club will be careful in bring him back to action. Dalglish also confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Aurelio both have resumed training and will be back soon.
The Scot told the reporters, “Obviously Steven is progressing well. Martin Kelly is back in training too. Fabio (Aurelio) is also close to coming back and joining us.”
When asked whether Steven Gerrard has any chance of featuring before the end of September, Dalglish replied, "We'll pick and choose when is best for Steven. We'll decide which game suits him best. We'll analyse his progress like we do with everybody. Everybody
that is asked to play will be fit enough to play. We'll just wait and see - there is no rush. We've just got to use common sense."
Liverpool lost their second fixture of the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League to Tottenham Hotspur recently. They are currently placed eighth in the table with seven points to their credit from five matches. The Reds will play their next Premier League
match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.
