Kenny Dalglish: Liverpool will have to sell first to buy new players – EPL News
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has revealed that the Reds will have to offload some of their players first in order to indulge in the transfer market again for new players.
The Reds have already been very busy in the past two transfer windows. Liverpool splashed over £50 million in January 2011 transfer window to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United and Luis Suarez from Ajax.
Moreover, Kenny Dalglish has already spent more than £50 million to sign four new players and is still being linked with a number of other players.
However, Dalglish confirmed that the possibility of bringing new players to Liverpool will now solely depend on the funds generated from the sale of some of the current players.
“Whether there's more remains to be seen and depends on players going out.” Kenny said.
Dalglish has also claimed that he is happy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s achievements in the transfer market and is now looking for a strong start to the next season.
“We're delighted with the work we've done,” added Liverpool manager.
Liverpool director of football, Damien Comolli, has also confirmed that the Merseyside club are likely to offload some players and also hinted that the youngsters would be sent on loan in order to get more first team action.
I’m sure there will be players going out because some players would like to play more and have more minutes,” Comolli stated.
The Liverpool director also confirmed that the club are planning to loan their youth academy products to the lower English league in order to provide them with first team playing time.
“We will probably have a few loans as well; players who we would like them to develop, into the Championship or the leagues abroad.”
Comolli also revealed that Liverpool have yet to assess their squad for the next season and then they will decide whether they need new players or not.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a number of left backs including the likes of Jose Enrique of Newcastle United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aly-Cissokho-c5313 of Lyon.
