Kenny Dalglish all praise for Joe Cole
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has applauded http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694 after he played for an hour against the Czech champions Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League.
The midfielder replaced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Aurelio in the 37th minute after the Brazilian suffered an adductor strain. Cole returned from a knee injury which kept him out for most of the on-going 2010-11 season. The midfielder has had a disturbing season since
arriving in the summer on a free transfer. He was sent off in the first Premier League match he played for the Reds and has been out with a persistent knee injury since.
“We've got to be patient with Joe. That's his first run out since I came back. That's a great start for him to get on the pitch and get an hour. That won't do him any harm whatsoever,” said Dalglish.
The manager described him as a ‘valuable asset’ for the club and said that it will take some time for the midfielder to make his mark. Dalglish added that Cole should be given time so that he could be back to his best without any pressure.
“He's a valuable asset for us, but obviously we can't expect him to fire immediately. We want to give him time, we want him to get himself up to speed without any pressure, and then see if he can do something for us,” Dalglish said in an interview.
King Kenny said that Cole has just come back from an injury and it will not be fair to expect too much from him. The manager labelled the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international as a world class player and said that the bad patch is temporary and Cole will surely return to
his best soon.
The availability of Cole in the squad is a huge plus for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonjo-Shelvey-c19081 are all out injured.
Joe Cole joined Liverpool in the summer of 2010 on a free transfer after spending 7 years with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 where he spent most of his time on the treatment table. The match against Sparta Prague was his first appearance under the new manager Kenny Dalglish.
