Kenny Dalglish believes http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471 is treated unfairly
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, Kenny Dalglish strongly believes that Craig Bellamy is treated unfairly by Premier League referees.
Bellamy had played as a Liverpool player, without picking up a singly booking, but he has now gone on to pick up four yellow cards, in four consecutive games.
Dalglish believes that these bookings have been dished out on the basis of the player's reputation, as opposed to him actually deserving any of them.
"You would hate to believe there is an agenda against him from anyone, but Craig has been booked four times and he hasn’t deserved any of them," Dalglish told reporters.
"You would like to think if you had been unlucky four times, you would not be unlucky for a fifth. Mind you, you might have said that after the first two.
The manager then went on to highlight a few of the occasions when the player was booked, as he still believes all those bookings were unjust.
"One of the bookings was at Fulham when Clint Dempsey stuck his head straight in Craig’s face. When he was booked the other night there, we asked the ref why the wee man was booked and he said, ‘Craig knows’ – but he didn’t.”
It is safe to say that Bellamy is one of the most notorious personalities in the Premier League. The player is considered to be one of the most rebellious and his reputation often gets the better of him.
Despite the player playing brilliantly for Liverpool, over the course of the last couple of months, he has dished out a few harsh tackles. His approach has been a little aggressive at times and the referees are often looking to prevent the players attitude
from escalating, which is why they produce the yellow cards so easily.
Nonetheless, Kenny Dalglish’s words can be considered to have a very minute impact on the referees decisions, since Bellamy isn’t the first player to be booked harshly and is more than likely not going to be the last player to see a yellow for something
he didn’t do.
All in all, Liverpool need to stop blaming the referees and need to get on with their game and do all the talking they want on the pitch.
