Kenny Dalglish blames bad luck for Liverpool’s poor form
Liverpool took on Blackpool last night, in what was Kenny Dalglish’s first game in charge of the team for a Premier League match. The Red’s went into the game, with everyone thinking that the time had come for Liverpool to finally prove themselves. However,
that was not the case as Liverpool went on to concede another defeat. Despite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 having scored early on in the game, goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and DJ Campbell saw Liverpool lose by two goals to one.
This defeat came directly after the team lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup this weekend. The team stated that the loss against the Red Devils was only because of the fact that they conceded a dubious penalty early on and their captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196
was sent off in the first half.
Despite all the excuses that the team makes, the fact that they are now sitting in the thirteenth spot, just four points off the relegations zone is nothing but factual data. However, another person who seems to have joined the delusional group of people
at Anfield is Dalglish himself. The new manager has gone on to state that Liverpool were the better side against Blackpool and that they deserved a whole lot more from the match.
Dalglish said, "We are disappointed we have come away from the game with no points. We got off to a good start; a couple of good passes and Fernando got in and finished really well. Their first goal we were on the verge of breaking clear, misplaced a pass
and they turned it around, went up the pitch and got a break of the ball off http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 before their lad finished well. If we had just laid the pass off and collected it and gone up the other end of the pitch we would have walked it in for 2-0 and so if
there was a turning point that would be it.”
It appears as if Dalglish just can’t admit seeing his team’s incompetence, following the pattern of two previous managers. Despite their single goal in the early part of the game, it would be wrong to take anything away from Taylor-Fletcher for his brilliant
finish. Moreover, the second goal scored by Blackpool just proved how weak the Liverpool defence really was. Not even a single player in the Liverpool area could pick on the return ball into the box and prevent DJ Campbell from getting clear in front of the
goal.
He added, "The second goal we cleared the corner quite sufficiently and then it has come back in and we've not picked up."
On the other hand, Ian Holloway who just so happened to pick up the double win over Liverpool was more than just delighted after the win, as this is the first time that Blackpool have managed to beat Liverpool in two league games in the same season in over
fifty years.
The ecstatic manager is reported to have said the following after the game: "If you'd said to me at the start of the season we'd get six points off Liverpool home and away I'd have said you were doolally.”
"I'd have got you a nice straitjacket and said 'get lost', but we've done it."
The most notable factor here is that Holloway, although restricting Liverpool to one goal, admits that his side was prepared for the worst. On the contrary, despite of having lost, Liverpool’s manager Dalglish still feels his side should have won.
What http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, the sooner they will be able to get their season back on track.
