Kenny Dalglish calls for unity amongst the Liverpool ranks
Liverpool’s new interim manager Kenny Dalglish has insisted that a united effort by everyone at the club is required to instigate a positive change in Liverpool’s current season. Dalglish has been handed the job until the end of the season after former manager
Roy Hodgson left Anfield, on Saturday, through mutual consent.
Dalglish has stated, “All I would say is I'm going to do the best I possibly can to try to help the club, but everybody has to pull in the same direction. There's no point not being a unified unit. If we pull in different directions we won't get anywhere.
We won't always be successful, and to be perfectly realistic, I think we have to say 'Let's just start walking before we run'.”
He went on to say that the club's fortune would not turn overnight. He confessed that the players will take some time to work according to his methods. Dalglish also maintains that realistic goals need to be set for the future and things need to be taken
forward one game at a time.
Dalglish already seems to have had an influence on Liverpool striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707. The Spaniard too has called on to the club to stick together and he also rebuffed rumors of him leaving Anfield.
In an interview Torres said, “More than ever, we need to stick together. We need to add more points, win matches and improve our standing in the table. My head is in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and on helping save our season. I am professional and I always fulfill my deals.
I haven't considered leaving, although in football that depends on the club.”
Dalglish will undoubtedly be pleased to hear such remarks from his side's premier striker. However, the Liverpool boss will be concerned over Torres’ current form. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international has scored only 1 goal in his last seven appearances for the club.
Dalglish has been part of Liverpool both as a player and manager during the 1980s. He is idolized by the Liverpool faithful and is expected to bring success to the club. It will surely be a difficult task as the Merseyside club which currently lies 12th
on the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone. Dalglish on the other hand is adamant that the players are capable of turning the season around.
