Kenny Dalglish ‘delighted’ with Andy Carroll’s first league goal for Liverpool – EPL News
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has expressed his delight over Andy Carroll’s first league goal of the ongoing 2011/12 season and has backed the English striker to find the net on the consistent basis this campaign.

Though Carroll started the current campaign well, he failed to score in the opening few league games. The English international finally brought an end to his barren run in front of goal by scoring a crucial goal in the Reds 2-0 win over Everton.

The Liverpool manager told the reporters, "Obviously it will be a boost for him to get his first league goal but I don't know what all the fuss is about. We are delighted with him. He has worked really hard in training and he deserved it.”
The Merseyside boss has stated that Carroll’s extraordinary price has nothing to do with the strikers’ form.
Dalglish revealed that the club is happy with the English international performance since the start of the season and added, "Andy has been fantastic, his stats in training are better than most peoples so I don't know what the fuss is about. The price-tag
is irrelevant and has nothing to do with his form or performances. He is just as important to us as [Jay] Spearing, [Steven] Gerrard or [Jamie] Carragher, who cost us nothing.”
Andy Carroll has now scored two goals in eight appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season.
