The Merseyside club then drew against Norwegian mid table side Valerenga.
Liverpool had already conceded 15 goals in five matches ahead of their last friendly match of this summer against Valencia.

For Dalglish, however, it was the impressive defensive performance that mattered the most. He believes that his players have been rewarded for their hard work.
"I think the boys deserve great credit for the work they've done out there. I think they got the reward for the hard work they have done in training by not losing any goals and that is just as pleasing for us as it is to score two at the other end.” The
manager told the reporters.
The Reds’ manager believes that Liverpool’s win will help the players start the upcoming 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season on a positive note.
“We're delighted with everybody, and their attitude and commitment. For us to go and win against a very, very good side, that won't do us any harm," Kenny Dalglish concluded.
