Kenny Dalglish happy with short-term stay at Liverpool
Liverpool’s current interim manager Kenny Dalglish has rebuffed reports that he demanded a long term deal with the club. He has been handed a six-month deal at Anfield which will last deal the end of the current Premier League season. Dalglish took over
the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 hot seat last week from Roy Hodgson.
Dalglish stated, “My understanding is that it's until the end of the season, and that's no problem for me. I've heard stories about demanding this and demanding that. I got a call Saturday morning, I got asked if I would take the job, and it was a straight-forward
'yes'. I came back here to work at a club to which myself and my family are eternally grateful.”
Dalglish has had success at Liverpool during the 1980s both as a player and a manager. His current stint at Anfield, however, has started off with a defeat at the hands of Manchester United in a FA Cup tie. United won the match 1-0 through an early penalty
which was awarded after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 in the box.
Dalglish lashed out at the referee Howard Webb after the match and labeled the decision “a joke”. He was also unhappy with the official’s sending off of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 also reacted on both decisions through his comments
on Twitter. He also posted a doctored photo of referee Webb wearing a United shirt. Babel has now been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association (FA).
Dalglish will be disappointed with a faulty start to his current reign at Liverpool but his main job will surely be to put his side’s current Premier League season on track. In an attempt to do so, the club has signed Steve Clarke as the first-team coach.
Clarke worked at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 under Jose Mourinho and played a vital role in assisting the Blues win the Premier League.
On Clarke’s arrival at Anfield Dalglish said, “To be fair to Steve, he was phoned Sunday night, and he was here Monday morning for training. That tells you something about Liverpool Football Club. Steve's had success at several clubs, none more so than with
Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, so I think we've got a good guy.”
