Kenny Dalglish impressed by Luis Suarez
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez left a positive impression on Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish following his first-ever start for the club against Wigan recently.
Suarez made a dream debut for Liverpool when he came off-the-bench against Stoke City and found the back of the net in just 10 minutes. Suarez was equally brilliant in his first start and was a constant threat to the Wigan defence. The 22.8-million-pound
former Ajax man hit the bar twice in the match and his dribbling and speed proved too much to handle for the Wigan back line.
“It was maybe unfair to keep Luis on for 90 minutes because he's not had too many games but we kept hoping he would get a goal. His energy and enthusiasm and movement is going to cause a lot of people a lot of problems,” stated the Liverpool boss.
Dalglish praised the ability of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s number 7 but believed that he was surrounded by some of the best players on the planet and would have to keep playing on this level, week in and week out.
The Scotsman however, labelled Suarez to be a fan favourite owing to his eye-catching dribbling skills and killer finishing techniques. The Uruguayan is expected to fill up the boots of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
in January 2011.
Torres has perhaps the best goal-scoring rate for Liverpool in decades and something similar is expected from Suarez as well. Wearing the legendary number 7 shirt of the Reds, most famously worn by Dalglish himself, the striker would have to keep a good
scoring ratio in order to be named in the playing eleven every week.
Brazilian midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 Leiva was also impressed by the Suarez’s ability and claimed that he worked very hard on the pitch to help the entire team. He said that his pace, strength, skills and finishing makes him one of the most deadly strikers on the
planet.
“You could see his quality with the free-kick (which hit the crossbar) and I am sure he will score a lot of goals,” stated the midfielder.
Suarez’s best season came in 2009-10, when he became nothing less than a goal machine.
In his 48 appearances, the Uruguayan managed to find the back of the net 49 times in all competitions. The prolific goal-scorer has not scored less than 22 goals in his previous four seasons and would be looking to continue that with his new employers.
