Kenny Dalglish looking to bring back Liverpool’s glory days
Kenny Dalglish has ensured the fans of his commitment to Liverpool, saying that he will give it his all to end the club’s trophy drought.
The Reds legend was brought out from retirement to oversee the remainder of Liverpool’s season after Roy Hodgson was sacked from the club recently. The FA Cup clash against Manchester United was Dalglish’s first game in charge of Liverpool since he vacated
the post almost in early 90s.
King Kenny, as he is called by the Kop, has expressed his delight at returning to the club where he won an astonishing 23 trophies both as a player and a manager.
Speaking on his decision on becoming the manager again, Dalglish said, “I was happy on a boat and then I got a phone call from John Henry (Liverpool owner) saying he had spoken to Roy (Hodgson) and would I like to come to look after the team  For me it was
a no-brainer. Whatever other people think about it, they are entitled to their opinion, but I'm the one making the decision and I made the one which was best for myself and the club. It's great to be back. For me it is a fantastic journey for me over the next
six months.”
Dalglish’s predecessor, Roy Hodgson, found himself under increasing pressure after a string of bad results left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 floundering in 12th place in the League standings. He had completely lost the support of the fans, who chanted Dalglish’s
name on numerous occasions.
Hodgson’s short tenure as the Reds manager ended following Liverpool’s shock 3-1 defeat to Blackburn on Wednesday, paving the way for King Kenny’s return to the throne.
Dalglish has thanked the Kop for their belief in him, ensuring them that their support will not go wasted. The new Liverpool manager said, “The reception of the fans was fantastic, unbelievable. It crossed my mind to do a Mourinho or a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 and run
down the touchline to the corner but I never made it. The fans have always had a special place for us and thankfully they have a long memory and they could remember happier times and hopefully we can bring those back.”
Dalglish will face his first challenge in the Premier League on 12 January 2011 when Liverpool square off against Blackpool at Bloomfield road.
