http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 take on Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday and the Reds’ manager is hoping for a repeat of what happened in the FA Cup.
Two of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’s most successful teams are set to resume their age-old rivalry this weekend in the Barclays Premier League as Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to take on bitter rivals, Manchester United.
This will be the second time in the space of two weeks that the sides are set to face off, with Liverpool knocking United out of the FA Cup following a dramatic late winner from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 at Anfield.
The game seemed to be heading towards a draw and the repeat at Old Trafford that seemed certain to follow, yet a long ball from goal keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 found the head of Andy Carroll who knocked the ball onto the path of Kuyt.
The Dutch striker made no mistake as he hammered the ball past the keeper at the Kop End to send the stadium into delirium.
While Dalglish will be hoping for a similar result on the weekend he also pointed out that he would like supporters and players of both sides to act responsibly during the match.
He stated, “Everyone involved, including the media, the supporters and both teams have a responsibility to ensure this weekend is remembered as a cracking game of football between two very good sides, rather than for anything else.”
By anything else, Dalglish will surely be referring to any acts of racial abuse or provocation as Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez is set to feature in the match at some point in the game.
Suarez received an eight match ban for allegedly racially abusing Manchester United skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231. The Liverpool player denied he was a racist but accepted the ban instead of appealing it.
Dalglish continued, “I thought everyone involved in the FA Cup tie at Anfield played their part in making sure that the match was played in the right way, so let’s make sure that happens again this weekend.”
One can be sure of one thing though, and that is an entertaining game of football as the Liverpool versus Manchester United rarely disappoint in terms of offering a spectacle to all those who watch the match.
