Kenny Dalglish ready to battle with Manchester United
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has claimed he is ready for his second encounter of the ongoing 2010-11 season against archrivals Manchester United.
The Reds boss oversaw his side’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of United in the FA Cup third round earlier in the campaign, though Dalglish can hardly be blamed for that loss. The Scot had taken over at the helm of the club only hours before the match, giving
him no time to prepare for the encounter.
Dalglish said, “I never had any time (ahead of their FA Cup meeting). I was in transit but the lads had been well prepared here. But obviously that went out the window a little bit in the first minute when they got a penalty and Steven (Gerrard) got sent
off.”
He added, “You can prepare as much as you want but you can't prepare for things like that.”
However, the upcoming Premier League clash between the two English giants is a different matter entirely. Kenny Dalglish has now been in charge of Liverpool for just over two months, a time in which the Scot has produced a remarkable turnaround at the club.
Before Dalglish’s arrival, Liverpool were in 12th place in the table, just four points from the relegation. But now, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 have hauled themselves up into sixth place, and if things go their way, they might just be in with a shot of a top four
finish.
Under the guidance of the legendary Scot, Liverpool look like a completely different team and Dalglish is hoping that his rejuvenated side can pull off a win against Manchester United this time around.
Speaking on the impeding encounter, Dalglish said, “Every game's very important for this football club but Liverpool-Manchester United is a game that a lot of people look forward to.”
He added that everyone plays football at the highest possible level and the games between Manchester United and Liverpool are certainly of the highest quality.
Liverpool are currently in sixth place in the League standings with 39 points.
