Kenny Dalglish refuses to comment on the red cards in Liverpool’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham – EPL News
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has refused to comment on the red cards given to Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel in the Reds’ humiliating 4-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Dalglish has been very vocal in recent times about the level of referring, claiming that his team’s progress has been halted due to poor standard of officiating since the start of the current 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign.
The Merseyside boss even held talks with the head of referees, Mike Riley, following Liverpool’s defeat to Stoke City two weeks after a controversial penalty cost his side three crucial points at the Britannia Stadium.
However, Liverpool saw two players receiving marching orders in the recent fixture against Tottenham Hotspur. Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel both were shown two yellow cards during a 4-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.
Adam was shown his first yellow on the 12th minute mark and was given his marching orders barely 15 minutes later after he produced a horrendous tackle on Scott Parker outside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s penalty box.
The Reds were down to 10 men even before half-hour mark and to make the situation worse for Kenny Dalglish, Skrtel was shown the second yellow card for another wrong tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
Liverpool endured their worst defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in over 46 years as strikes from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 completed a historic victory at White Hart Lane.
Dalglish has refused to talk about the red cards shown to his players.
He told the reporters, "There will be a lot of controversy and a lot of comments made about what happened during the game.  Everything else that you probably want to talk about - the controversy and the sending offs - I think we will just leave it.”
The Liverpool manager has also insisted that his side were not at their best. Dalglish has hailed Tottenham Hotspur’s extraordinary start to the game and has insisted that the hosts made it very difficult for the Reds to settle down after taking the lead.
“We gave ourselves a difficult start because we never started properly and if you don't do that and go a goal down then you are going to be in a bit of trouble because Tottenham are a good side,” the Scotsman added.
Dalglish believes that Harry Redknapp’s men deserved all three points against Liverpool and when asked whether he was satisfied with the referee’s performance, the Reds boss said, "I think it’s best to wait and see. There’s no point us passing comments and
taking [anything] away from Tottenham."
Liverpool have now lost two fixture in the ongoing season and are placed eighth with seven points from five matches.
