Queens Park Rangers turned around a dramatic tie against Liverpool where they were trailing by the Reds by two goals to win it by 3-2 in the end. It was a spectacular comeback by the London club which left Kenny Dalglish speechless
and Liverpool’s hopes of making it into the top four dangling by a thread...
Kenny Dalglish was left speechless after his team threw away a two goal advantage against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 to lose the match by three goals to two against the relegation threatened outfit. Mark Hughes’ team showed tremendous
character to pull themselves back into the game after going two goals down when everyone had written them off.
The Premier League minnows showed that they are more than capable of matching teams such as Liverpool in the big league where they have been written off of late for a sure shot relegation spot. Hughes has said that this result
might change QPR’s fortunes, something that might be a bit of a stretch but it was a very surprising victory for the home side who never gave up even when they were two goals down against Liverpool.
It was all going fine for Liverpool when Kuyt made it 2-0 against QPR in the second half after the first goal of the match was scored by Sebastien Coates. With a two goal advantage, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 switched off and allowed QPR back
into the match as Derry and Cisse scored from their respective headers to draw level before Mackie netted the winning strike in injury time of the encounter.
Dalglish said, “I don’t have any answers. What more can I say? We need to find answers and make sure we learn from it. I don’t think anybody saw it [QPR’s comeback] coming. A few of us had a feeling before the game how we would
approach it after reaching the [FA Cup] semi-final.”
He added, “The way we started the game was fantastic. The only thing missing was a bit of luck in front of goal. We came in at half-time 0-0 but it could have 4-0 easily. It was a great goal from Seb, Dirk touched one in. You couldn’t
see them getting a goal but maybe the luck they didn’t get against Bolton they got tonight. Most of the game we were dominant, creative and professional. They have walked away with three points.”
