Kenny Dalglish sets his sights further up the table
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has said that he will not settle for seventh place in the Premier League.
Dalglish oversaw Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Wednesday, leading the club to their highest position in the League standings in the 2010-11 season. But the Reds legend is setting his sights further up the table.
An own goal by Fulham’s John Pantsil in the 52nd minute was enough to hand all three points to Liverpool, sending them into the top half of the Premier League table for the first time in weeks.
It is a remarkable turnaround for the club which only recently found itself floundering in the relegation zone. However, manager Kenny Dalglish is not satisfied.
The Liverpool boss said, “I think we are better than that. It is getting a bit more realistic but we are not getting carried away with being seventh - that is not where this football club wants to be. We want to be further up than that but to do that we
have to win more games and that is what we will try to do, starting against Stoke (City) next Wednesday (On the 2nd of February).”
Kenny Dalglish has already refused to state his goals for the season, saying that he will cross each bridge when he comes to it. The Liverpool manager has claimed that he has no long-term plans for the current campaign.
When asked about his targets, Dalglish replied, “To beat Stoke next Wednesday, the same we have done here since I can remember. We have never come in at the start of the season and said 'we're going to do this or that', we just went out to do the best we
could. At the end of the season we added up the points to see where we were and I don't any reason to change that.”
The arrival of Kenny Dalglish at the helm seems to have hugely boosted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s confidence. The Reds are finally showing signs of life. Let’s see whether they can continue their resurgence when they face Stoke in a few days.
