Kenny Dalglish states that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 will stay at Liverpool
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has stated that Ryan Babel will not leave the club in the January transfer window. It was reported that Liverpool and German club Hoffenheim had agreed to a deal on the striker. Babel was also linked
with a move to his former club Ajax but now Dalglish has revealed that the Dutchman will stay at Anfield.
On a question regarding Babel’s future at the club, Dalglish said, “He's staying here.” Dalglish was then asked if this would result in the club ending its pursuit for Ajax star Luis Suarez. However, the manager opted not to answer
that question and continued to discuss Babel, stating once again, "He's staying here."
Liverpool are also aiming to bring the Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam to Anfield. The player has already submitted a transfer request to the management at his current club and it is likely that the Reds will be able to secure
his signature in the coming days. Dalglish, however, refused to comment on the possible signing.
He said, “I've told you before, if I've got some business to discuss, we will discuss. We've said we'll try to adopt the ways of Liverpool Football Club, and certainly one of our ways is to be respectful to other clubs. The most
important people we have are the players at our football club, not those belonging to others."
The Liverpool manager went on to praise his club’s captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, who will be returning to the team after coming back from a 3-match ban.
“He is a special person, he's not just a special footballer,” said Dalglish. "The way he has served this club and what the club means to him it is nothing short of fantastic what he has done for this football club. I don't have
words in my vocabulary to be complimentary enough about Steven other than to say this club is much better off with him than it could be without him.”
Gerrard received the three-match ban for a two-footed tackle during Liverpool’s FA Cup tie against Manchester United. Babel also sprung into controversy following the defeat to United, which knocked the Merseyside club out of the
competition.
Babel received a £10000 fine by the Football Association (FA) for the comments he posted on Twitter regarding referee Howard Webb, who officiated the FA Cup match between the Red Devils and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Babel also posted a doctored
image of Webb wearing a United shirt. During the match, the referee awarded an early penalty to United and reduced Liverpool to 10 men by issuing a red card to Gerrard.
The news of Babel staying at Anfield will go down well with the Liverpool fans. They believe that the Dutch international has not yet been allowed to showcase his talent at the club.
Babel was a regular on the bench during the reign of both Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson and was never able to secure a starting eleven spot. In the 146 appearances he made for the club, he bagged only 22 goals which seem quite
low for a quality striker. However, one needs to consider that most of these goals were scored as a substitute when he was called on to rescue his side.
If Liverpool fail to secure the signature of the Uruguayan striker Suarez, Babel will certainly come in handy at Anfield. Liverpool’s next fixture is a Premier League match against Fulham on Wednesday, January 26. It will be interesting
to see if Babel will feature in the squad for that match.
