Kenny Dalglish unhappy with Liverpool’s display against Tottenham Hotspur – EPL News
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has urged the Reds to “go back to the drawing board” after the Merseyside club suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
The Anfield club slumped to their second consecutive defeat of the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign. Their impressive start to the season was halted by an unfortunate loss at Stoke City and recently they were outplayed by Harry Redknapp’s
men.
Despite starting the season on high, Liverpool looked completely out of depth and without any game plan, at White Hart Lane. They were dominated by the hosts throughout the ninety minutes. Goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 proved
that Kenny Dalglish’s side need to go back to their basics.
Dalglish was highly displeased with his side’s performance and believes that the Reds now should only concentrate on correcting their basics.
The Reds boss told the reporters, “We need to go back to the drawing board. All we can do is try to improve what is within our scope. If it’s sore for the players to take... then good.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager has hailed the display of Tottenham Hotspur and believes that the host’s extraordinary start to the game made it hard for his side to settle.
"I thought Tottenham started better than we did, I thought they played very well. We never reached the level that we are capable of,” the Scotsman added.
Dalglish believes that it was a horrible result for Liverpool, who are aiming for a Champions League berth after finishing sixth last season. However, the Scottish manager has hailed the reaction of the Kop, who showed extraordinary faith in their team despite
4-0 mauling in North London.
"For us, it's been a bad day on the football side. It was a horrible result. Probably the best performance from anyone at the football club was the fans,” Kenny Dalglish concluded.
After suffering their second defeat of the season, Liverpool are now placed eighth in the league standings with seven points from five matches.
