Kenny Dalglish urges the Anfield officials to continue spending wisely – EPL news
Liverpool boss, Kenny Dalglish, has urged the club officials to continue spending by bringing in new players at Anfield. The Scott was talking after being given a permanent deal at the club on Thursday, May 12. He took over from former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson
earlier in January and has brought the Reds a long way since then.
Dalglish’s assistant, Steve Clarke, also signed a three-year deal at the club after both men enabled the Reds to jump out from the bottom half and sit on the fifth spot in the table. Liverpool are very close to finding a place in the UEFA Europa League with
just two games left to be played in the current 2010/11 campaign.
The 60-year-old Scott has been responsible for a massive turnaround in Liverpool’s fortunes and has already won millions of hearts at Anfield during his second consignment with the club. His master strokes restored confidence in the club officials which
resulted in a three-year deal for Dalglish.
The former Newcastle United boss brought in the likes of Luis Suarez from Ajax for 22.7 million Pounds and also grabbed the services of the Toons striker, Andy Carroll, for a massive 35 million Pounds. The boss stressed upon the need of some new faces in
order to bolster an already impressive squad and claimed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 would not be an easy opponent for most of the top sides during the upcoming 2011/12 season.
The Manager added, “Budgets are all very well and good but they don’t guarantee you anything. For ourselves, like every other football club, there’ll be movement in and out and I’m sure there’ll be plenty [of] speculation. Some we may even recognise their
names, but I’m sure that’ll be minimal as well. For us there will be movement in and out, that’s part of pre-season, part and parcel of football. We’ll be doing business, but the better we do the business the more successful we will be.”
Liverpool are currently fifth in the League table with 58 points and even a Europa League spot would be a huge achievement for the Merseysiders. The Kops will next be in action against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, May 15.
