Kenny Gorelick is a wonderful and talented musician. However, I am POSITIVE he too would state for the record that there is no argument, no comparison....Coltrane is the way. If you've had the chance to sit down and enjoy any of the Trane collection, you would agree...there is NO comparison.

I once mentioned that my favorite saxophone artist was David Sanborn. mnetioned this in front of my Dad. See ( www.swingthatmusic.com ) to know who dad is. Dad had a look that could kill...LOL. Even Dad would agree Coltrane.. Even stated so in his Smithstonian Institute Interview.( At least i think it was....or was it Byrd? lester Young? Yikes!!)

Many people believe  as I that Kenny sold himslf out to "elevator music" but in defense he is a very capable musician especially when he played with Jeff Lorber Fusion. Although Im not one to compare musicians I would "prefer" the musicianship, style, soul and innovation of coltrane.
