It was difficult for the hosts to win the match from this stage, as they didn’t have much time left. However, they could have tried to save the match by batting out the remaining day’s play.

Although the pitch had become a touch easier for batting on the final day, there was still some assistance for the bowlers. This allowed the visitors’ bowlers to take the required 10 wickets and win the match comprehensively by 154 runs.

The team was put on the back foot straight away, but a solid partnership between Fabian Cowdrey and Blake gave some momentum to the home side. The pair put together 83 runs for the second wicket partnership before the former got out after adding 44 runs
to the total.
Chris Piesley was the next man to be dismissed in the innings after managing an unimpressive 8 runs off 17 balls. He was followed by wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sam-W-Billings-c88204, who contributed 18 runs to the total.
Blake had batted brilliantly, but was unable to save his side from a humiliating defeat, as he got out after scoring 75 runs off 112 balls with the help of 13 boundaries.
The home team had lost half their side for 164 runs and things did not get better for them from then onwards, as wickets kept on tumbling.

Craig Meschede was terrific in the entire game for the Somerset 2nd XI side. The youngster took four wickets in the final innings, increasing his overall tally to nine.
