It’s funny how Kent Hovind totally disproves Evolution…but yet you people call him an idiot…when he is smarter then you will ever be.

  1. How does he disprove evolution? Many of his arguments have been disputed as they are erroneous, incorrect, lies and fallacies.

Evolution is fact. All dogs came from a dog. So, all bears came from a bear, including the polar bear which is the only carnivorous bear and it has web paws.

Among his errors include the age of the earth (age of oldest tree, Sahara Desert, Niagara Falls), the age of the universe (Moon dust, Saturn's rings), radiometric dating, carbon dating, definitions of evolution, religion, theory and science, geological column and transitional fossils.

Lies include that dinosaurs and humans have lived together, Darwin was a racist, Hitler endorsed evolution and that evolution teaches immorality.

His fallacies include ad hominems (Darwin was racist), slothful induction (were you there?) and quote mining.

  2. He's definitely a smart guy.

It's cool to see that he will let himself go to jail just to prove to people that he doesn't own anything, and God owns it all. :)

Evolution is not a fact by the way, as it has never been proved.

I'm sure Charles Darwin was just like all the others in coming up with a theory like this, he finds some information that others may call "reasonable" and uses that to support his theory with, and uses that to generate lots of money from fans of his theory, this tactic also works with the Global warming theory.

Just face it, people say that we have come from monkeys, but yet a monkey would never produce a non-monkey? that's contradictory! =P

The arguments will be going on for times to come, sometimes I just wish we got a message from God stating what actually did happen, it would clarify everything and these arguments would stop! =P

He's a great guy, and I can't wait to meet him some day. :)

  3. Whether the debate is the age of the earth or evolution, none of this impacts my salvation.

  4. Last I heard, Hovind was so smart he was in prison for tax evasion and some other felonies.

    Go thou and do likewise.

  5. What Kent Hovind teaches is often complete rubbish or attacks something that is not said by any scientific theory.

He's a good orator and knows his audience but essentially his arguments are often specious.

Just as an example picked at random take the "Does carbon dating prove the Earth is millions of years old?" article in which he attacks the age of the earth using as an argument the "fact" that scientists do not know the ratio of C14 in the atmosphere during history.

The first glaring mistake is that carbon dating has no relevance to determining the age of the earth, it only works on organic materials that were once alive (and therefore taking in atmospheric carbon by some method) and whose organic material has not been mineralised by fossilisation. Determination of the age of the earth is supported by radiometric dating of the minerals in rocks.

Secondly he ignores completely the fact that scientists can determine the ratios of C14 in history by analysing things that can be independently dated such as ice cores, lake varves and dendrochronology, and these differing methods produce curves that agree with one another.

He also claims a global flood in recent history, a supposed event that has left no trace of its occurence on a worldwide scale and can provide absolutely no explanation for what can be observed by geologists. How can a year long flood produce layers of rock of types not produced underwater and containing animal tracks sandwiched between hundreds of meters of the supposed muddy sediments laid down by that life destroyig flood.

And of course that totally ignores how existing civilisations managed to survive that period.

  6. You will get a lot of nasty answers to this post. I just want to say a couple things. Kent Hovind is a intelligent person and I have seen his teachings. But I think he is being to cocky about the whole thing. The Lord doesn't want us to be cocky and proud. There is no need to "disprove" evolution because it hasn't been proven.

You cannot lead more people to Christ by being cocky and having an argument, that will just drive them further away. You need to be loving like Jesus said. Pray for them.

Having a debate about how we got here is going to solve nothing. We need to tell them about the good news (the Gospel) before the time of the end. It's right around the corner.

    God Bless.
