Kenta Hirai of Japan claimed the gold medal of Boys 200m butterfly on the last day of the 3rd World Junior Swimming Championships, organised by the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA), in Lima, Peru.
The 17-year-old Hirai earned the top fastest spot of the event in an improved championship record time of 1 minute and 57.16 seconds. His time was 1.65 seconds underneath his own previous championship mark of 1 minute and 58.81 seconds, set by Hirai in the

Darragh was in a lead of 0.72 seconds over his following swimmer, Jun Isaji of Japan, who earned fourth position of the event by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 00.03 seconds. He was followed by Andrey Tambovskiy of Russia, who was just one second behind
Isaji and finished as fifth fastest swimmer of the event, with a timing of 2 minutes and 01.03 seconds.
The sixth position was claimed by Dylan Bosch of South Africa, who remained just 0.13 seconds slower than his former finisher and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 01.16 seconds. Kyle McIntee of Canada was the seventh position holder of the event, as he posted
a time of 2 minutes and 03.86 seconds. S Van De Schootbugge of Great Britain secured eighth position of the event, with a timing of 2 minutes and 04.36 seconds.
