Kentucky Derby 2008; WHO's going to beat Pryo or War Pass? I think its a two horse race!?

I think the main race that everybody is focusing on is the War Pass vs. Pyro. Really it is anybody's race. War Pass was amazing in the Breeders Cup, and Pyro was amazing in the LA Derby. Both of these horses are truly amazing. For the ones that want to go against the odds, I like Visionaire, El Gato Malo, and Georgie Boy. Although Georgie Boy has not ran farther than 7 furlongs, I still think he a chance. Visionaire was awesome in the Gotham Stakes (although you could barely see his amazing performance!) El Gato Malo, second in his last start to Colonel John, has an amazing turn of foot. He almost passed up Colonel John. For my Derby picks, I say War Pass, Pyro, Visionaire, and Georgie Boy!

It's all them, the Affirmed and Alydar of 2008. War Pass will take the Derby and Preakness, possibly the Belmont if he can rate the distance. But War Pass is the better horse, he's well beaten Pyro three consecutive races, though there's no denying Pyro's talent.

But I can't rule out Denis of Cork.

At this point they may be the top 2 contenders.  I will be watching the 3 preps on Saturday.  My pick is Georgie Boy and he will be racing Saturday.

I don't disagree that those are the two most impressive horses right now, but we have two more months of watching these young horses develop and the post draw will have something to do with it.  Brother Derek in '06 and Curlin last year are two horses that figured to finish in the exacta before drawing terrible positions.  Plus, as I said, any of the other elligible horses could put it all together before May.

I think it's a one horse race! It all depends on gate pick if you ask me. Thats HUGE in a 20 horse field. If they both get a nice gate and a good trip, I dont feel there is a horse that can beat Pyro. I think War Pass can and will be beaten. Cool Coal Man in 2nd. I think he will come in 4th.If you go back and look at the previous races between these two horse, besides the Breeders cup,(sloppy as all h**l) Pyro was coming like a freight train at the end. Add more distance, and  Pyro is gonna blow right past him like Street Sense did to Hard Spun. You have got to love the closer in this one!! See ya in the infield!!
