Kentucky derby... which horse will win & why???

my boyfriend and i are going down to bet on the derby in a little while. he's going for gayego, but i'm not sure.

i'm thinking of betting for either cool coal man, gayego, denis of cork, or recapturetheglory. what about you?? which horse do you think will win and why (please give reasons!!)

The KD is always a hard one to pick.  I've got a longshot

in a exacta wheel, # 12 Smooth Air.  

Come on Smooth Air, run, baby, run.

Why? I have no idea.  Actually, Smooth Air finished second

to favorite Big Brown in Florida Derby, and has been in

the money in all of his 7 races.

But again, the KD is the hardest race to pick.  Real tough.

I think Colonel John will win because he's very consistent, has good breeding, has been training well at Churchill, and is breaking from a good post.  He also has a good running style for the Derby.    

Gayego is breaking from post 19, no horse has ever won breaking from that post.
