does anyone know what inmates in ky can get from their families like radios, cd's anything.

The website given previously has good information, but probably does not answer your question.  Most prisons do not allow anyone to send items to inmates directly.  You can purchase items through DOC approved vendors and have them sent directly to the inmate.  Contact the warden's office for a list of these vendors, as they can vary facility by facility.

Keep in mind though, that the price you pay through the approved vendors will be, in many cases, substantially higher than those at your local Walmart or Marshall Fields.  Sending cash to their account is usually preferred.  He will need the financial support to just eat.  Penitentiary "food" is usually that in name alone.  It is not enough, and has little if any nutritional value.
