Kenwood KVT-617DVD sound issues

My Kenwood KVT-617DVD unit is only playing sound through the rear
speakers on Tuner. The sound does not play when on DVD/CD or External
Media/IPod But the monitor shows that the CD or DVD or IPod plays normal what is the problem?
