  1. Where are you planning to go in Kenya? For how long? For business or pleasure? Are you planning to "rough it" or go on luxury travel?

The answers to all of these will get you different answers, but having lived in Kenya for about two years of the past 6, I'd say that the best things there are:

    Lamu Island

all of the things to see and do around Lake Naivasha

    the Cherangani hills

    Mt. Kenya

and of course the people - Kenyans are, by and large, incredibly friendly, generous and fun to spend time with.

    Good luck!

  2. Kenya is quite a good choice. The diversity of the country both culturally and geographically will give you a good experience. Interesting attractions include the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Amboseli Game Reserve, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha. Also you can visit the white sandy beaches both in North Coast and South Coast of Kenya. Other places of interest include Lamu a town that has defied modernity maintaining its state for more than 500 years. The list is endless. Another important point to note is apart from the conventional attractions - you can do other extra activities e.g Hot Air Ballon, Bush Walks, Mountain Climbing, horseback riding, camel treks e.t.c

    Apart from the different attractions other important things to note;

Guide: Find a guide that knows around well

Forex - don't change money at the airport they usually give very bad rates. Tell your guide to find you a reputable burea (its prudent to check the rate on the local newpaper).

    - When walking in town take extra care of your Cell Phone and Camera, this are the main targets of petty thiefs.

  3. I recently visited Kenya and took 15 days safari with MountSafaris  The trip was amazing and at the best rate we came across. The itineraries are completely customizable and the service was great. They offer trips for the budget and high end traveler. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and the cooks served some tasty dishes. If you are heading to Kenya check out   www.mountsafaris.com

and get yourself a quote for your dream vacation.

  5. what part of kenya are you going is this a vacation? anyway, one of the sure ways is befriend a local, there are many who are out to get something out of you, but if you can find a local you like and click and ask them to be your guide of the city that would work fine, tip them of course and they will be there to take you whereever you want and they can help you avoid places you don't wanna go to and help negotiate stuff you buy since your a tourist you don't get ripped off and they will try to sell you something 5 times what it's worth ............good luck, enjoy the place it's beautiful

  6. Dont trust in any guide, look for your travel agency before arrive to Kenya, avoid risks.

  7. get a really good guide and you will enjoy it

  8. pack simple and light, lots of powder for body, drink lots of bottled water keep hydrated, lots of sun screen, and good pair of sunglasses, hat to protect your head so you don't get sun stroke. don't take any jewelry or expensive stuff as it might get stolen, also depending on time spent there take malaria pills with you. That enough info?  :)

  9. I lived in Kenya for an accumulated 1 year and 1 month.  Take me with you!!!!  :)  I desire to go back and remain there.

  10. Thanks very much for being interested to tour to our country.Kenya is a lovely country

which welcomes visitors from any place around the world.

    Actually the're many places here

in Kenya where you may visit like, national parks, historic sites, cultural sites e.t.c.

It's not absolutely safe here in kenya for foreigners, but their safety is thoroughly

    guaranteed by the government.

I would also advise u to look for a trustworth tour guide who'll help u

about many things like security, good hotels, safe places and many others, because

many locals who're excited while seeng foreigners may entice u and end up conning

    you. WELCOME!
