Kenya batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tanmay-Mishra-c92705 says they are ready to face Australia – ICC World Cup 2011 news
Middle-order http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in Bangalore on Sunday.
“After we lost that game, obviously heads were down but these things happen in cricket,” said Mishra while talking to media after a training session. “You've just got to stay positive and look forward to the next challenge. We've left it
behind us and we are just focused on the game ahead.”
The semi-finalists of 2003 World Cup have so far played four games in the event so far and are still searching for their first win. Their last tournament outing was against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canada-c748 on Monday which they lost by five wickets.
Mishra said that they have been playing very well against associate teams and this was the reason that the defeat against Canada was ‘really difficult one to swallow.’ However, he said that the players are out of that turmoil and are geared
up to play a competitive game against the Kangaroos.
Mishra was one of the star performers in Monday’s game as he notched his fourth One Day International half-century as Kenya set a target of 198 runs which the Canadians cruised past in the 46th over with five wickets in hand.
The Kenyan batsman admitted that they did not perform up to the mark against Ashish Bagai’s side and was hopeful the players would not repeat the mistakes in their next game.
“We haven't really done well, our top order hasn't really connected,” Mishra said. “We spoke about it and now we've got Australia and we've just still got to stay positive, do the basics right. We will be working on it in the next few days
and hopefully we can come up and give a good show.”
When asked about the plunge in their form after reaching semi-finals in the 2003 tournament, Mishra reckoned lack of fixtures could be a key reason. However, he was hopeful that the team would bounce back soon.
