According to reports, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, Newcastle United and West Ham United are in the race to sign the Kenyan midfielder. The English Premier League sides are set to battle it out for Wanyama in the summer transfer
window.
Wanyama signed for Celtic in the summer of 2011 from Beerschot AC for a fee of £900,000 on a four year contract, making him the first ever Kenyan to play in the SPL. During his time with the club, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kenya-c752 international made a total 41 appearances in all
competitions and scored four goals.
While other European clubs are said to be interested in the 20-year-old, Wanyama seems keen on a move to the English Premier League. Depending on the ambition showed by the above mentioned sides, Wanyama is likely to choose from them.
His agent, Rob Moore, confirmed that there were unofficial talks in the process and that his client’s future would be decided soon. According to Moore, Wanyama wanted to play at the highest level and he believed it was something that would be guaranteed
to him in the English Premier League.
Wanyama’s representative denied reports that his client was unhappy at Celtic, in fact, he claimed Wanyama was very happy with the side. However, he revealed the Kenyan midfielder was looking for a move away, in search for a fresh challenge.
Moore said while speaking to reporters:
“That has been a lot of talk which is not necessarily true. But he is like any other young talented footballer in that he wants to play at the highest level.
He has made the club aware that if they receive an offer from one of the big leagues he would like them to consider it.
He is not unhappy at Celtic, far from it - he loves the club and everything has been great for him since he moved but should something come in he feels they should listen.”
