Kepler Wessels terms the Proteas as favourites over Poms - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kepler-Christoffel-Wessels-c71006, the former South African captain, has touted the visitors as the favourites to win the three Test-match Investec series against England.
South Africa and England will be heading to Lord’s to play the final Test of the series, which the visitors lead, 0-1. Plenty is at stake for both teams, who will fight it out for the top-Test rankings, currently held by the home side.
Wessels believe that the visitors have every reason to feel confident on the back of their imposing performances in the series, while the hosts would have to deal with an added pressure that was caused due to the recent controversy involving English cricket.
“England will be chasing the game in order to force a win and even-up the series. That way, teams make mistakes, and the Proteas will be hoping that they will create enough pressure to capitalise on any mistakes England make when they try and force a result,” the former left-handed batsman said.
The Proteas would fancy their chances to make it 2-0, given the omission of star England batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 from the final squad at Lord’s, who has been replaced by Jonny Bairstow. Pietersen played an influential role in turning the tide against the tourists with an impressive century (149) at Leeds.

“The Proteas are firm favourites to shut England out and retain the lead they currently have in the series. They have convincingly won ninety percent of the sessions that have been played over the series so far. I will be surprised if we see anything different this time,” the former captain further added.
England will enter the third Test today with a huge task ahead to save the series and their status as the world’s best Test side.
