My husband is 21 years old and was told a year ago while in basic training for the Airforce that he had Keratoconus? And he was supposed to get kicked out for it, but got it waved then and when he was doing his deployment health assessment stuff his doctor then wasn't sure if he even had it, but waved it anyways again (few months ago). His vision isn't that bad, just wears corrective lenses to shoot better and drive better. Has anyone else in the service had Keratoconus? If so did you get to stay in or what did they do about it; when will it actually affect his eyesight really bad; Is there anything he can do to fix it or something?...And is this something thats going to keep popping up over the years causing more issues with his career? Hes in security forces btw if that helps at all.

  1. I was immediately banned from joining the militery as an officer. Before I left MEPS in Massachussetts, the Militery Doctor made me sign a paper that I would never join any militery service.
