Kermit Cintron to return to the ring against Carlos Molina – Boxing news
Former welterweight titlist Kermit Cintron is now returning back to the ring to compete with Carlos Molina on July 9, 2011 at the Home Depot Center in California, United States.
The two fighters will be face to face in a 10-round Junior Middleweight fight on the same day when Lara will be in front of Williams.
Carl Moretti of Top Rank promotional company has confirmed the news. Moretti said, “It's not signed, but it's all agreed to, it’s Mexico versus Puerto Rico, and that is always a great rivalry in boxing. The winner is going to get a big fight.”
The Light Middleweight contender, Cintron has been outstanding since his entry to professional boxing. Cintron fought 36 of his total fights of which he won 32 competitive crowns including 28 victories by scoring knockouts against best boxers of the world
with 3 losses and one draw in his career.
Cintron has been out of the ring since May 8, 2010 when lost the decision fighting against Paul Williams at the Home Depot Center in California, United States. Cintron fought the first ever fight of his career against Jesse Williams in 2000 at the Lancaster,
Pennsylvania, United States. Cintron won the first-ever technical knockout decision against Williams. After winning 24 of his impressive and consecutive fights, Cintron faced the second loss of his career at the time when he fought against Antonio Margarito
in 2005. He also lost his WBO Welterweight title in the process.
After winning five more fights, the third loss came Cintron’s way when he went again to compete with Antonio Margarito in 2008. Margarito won a knockout decision against him and Cintron lost his International Boxing Federation’s (IBF) Welterweight title
in the process.
Finally, Cintron is coming after winning couple of his good fights and then a notable draw. However, now he has grown in experience to learn from his previous mistakes.
On the other hand, his opponent Molina is young, exciting fighter. Molina fought 24 of his total fights of which he won 18 competitive crowns including 6 knockout wins with 4 losses and two draws in his professional career.
Molina made his debut going face to face with James Rice in 2003 in the US. The first loss came his way in 2004 when he lost the decision against Jonathan Ochoa fighting at Hawthorne Race Course in Illinois, United States. However, the couple of years from
2005 to 2007 proved to be very tough for Molina when he faced three back to back losses. However, he is back in form as he has won 10 consecutive fights.
Both the fighters are very excited to take that bout. Hopefully, the bout will be as interesting as it promises to be.
