"I want the fight," said Cintron, who is 27-1 with 25 KOs. "I can wrestle. I can box. I can beat those UFC fighters at their own game. Tell Mr. White to make me an offer and I'll take on his guy after I fight Matthysse on July 14."Cintron went on to win the fight by KO 29 seconds into the second round with total dominance. It should be noted that Matthysse was never knocked down prior to this fight but got knocked down twice before the knockdown that caused the KO.

~Cintron wrestled in high school and was offered full wrestling scholarships to Wisconsin and Ohio State.~

Does anyone know/heard if this fight is going to happen?

It was proposed and talked about back in 2007, but im wondering if anyone else has heard anything about it?

I've researched it, but haven't found much

I'd love to see this fight

  1. The main reason it'd never happen is Cintron would be taking a huge paycut to leave a sports he's pretty good at to and taking less money to try something completely new.

I'd love to see it happen though, with KO power in boxing gloves he could be a serious force with even jabs wearing only 4 ounce gloves. Also, as you said, he does have a wrestling background, and is already familiar with serious hardcore training. Get him some BJJ training and lets see what he can do.

Another reason Dana White wouldnt want it besides the money Cintron would want is the reputation factor. He's spent a lot of time talking about how boxing is dead and that MMA is the new combat sport, if Cintron came in with no real MMA experience or training and beat one of their best fighters it would make the sport look bad.

  2. No it won't happen.  Cintron is still an active boxer that was only talk

  3. He's just talking smack, just like Mayweather.

    It won't happen.

  4. Never going to happen. Cintron does not have the balls to step into an unfamiliar setting, and has too much invested in his pro boxing career, like most high level pro boxers. And I'm sure he wouldn't want to take the pay cut.
