you can clean just about any car part with it. but you are better off and cheaper to go get cleaning solvent . you can get it at most place's that sell propane and oil supplies and its less flammable

Greasy, dirty metal parts. It is used just because it works, but it is not a very good cleaner for many reasons and should not be used any more than one would (and do) use gasoline to cleans "parts". Heavy industry does use it for some cleaning cases, but with it's much higher cost in recent times, it's use is dwindling.

Kerosene is FLAMMABLE! It is not a parts cleaner - it is a fuel. If you must use it do so outside and far away from all ignition sources including cigarettes. And never, ever, use Kerosene in a parts cleaner. Also, Kerosene contains dissolved waxes so if your cleaning small parts they are going to have to be rinsed in cleaning solvent anyway.
