  1. Well the nicest town in Kerry is Killarney. Lots to do but a bit on the expensive side. Don't go near Listowel, it's a rough area and not much to see.

  2. why do you not go for camping, there is nice place, if you not have tent , see here. It's more

  3. Kerry is one the most scenic places you could visit in Ireland.  Lucky you!  Hiring a car is a great idea.  Any time we visit Ireland we always do so because the public transport system is so bad in outside of the capital.

Last time we hired a car, we booked with http://www.argus-rentacar.com/.  We travelled around the Ring of Kerry.  You really must do this day trip.  You'll take in all of the picturesque places in Kerry including the beautiful Lakes of Killarney.  The whole county is like a postcard though, whether you drive out to the famous windmills of Blennerville or the spectacular Dingle Peninsula.  The beach at Inch is also well worth seeing too.  You probably know it from the movie 'Ryan's Daughter'.  It's surrounded by mountains, a bit like Hawaii actually!!  It's also worth spending some time in the town of Dingle, also known as 'An Daingean' (Dingle in Gaelic), you might even be lucky enough to spot the famous dolphin off the coast while in town.

  4. hi you

i would do the ring of Kerry go and see Kate carny cottage the lakes are nice to see also

  5. There ar two great scenic drives in Kerry , The ring of Kerry and the ring of Dingle, each drive can be done in a day but you could stretch them over a number of days and stay in some of the lovely villages on the way , check out this website

  6. You're very near Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, and of course Muckross House and gardens, well worth a visit.

You're also near the Dingle Peninsula, which is just lovely ....

And also close to the lovely town of Listowel, and just a few miles further on is the seaside town of Ballybunion and have a little cliff walk there, it's stunning, and I believe it's also great if you're into golf. I suggest taking a day to drive from Castlemaine to Listowel, then onto Ballybunion, take the Kerry Head drive towards Ballyheigue and stop of for a bracing walk along Banna Strand, then back in the car and head slowly southwards towards Tralee, then turn back towards Castlemaine.

  7. i live in waterford, a little while away from it, my parents love to go to killarney, i don't know how near it is to where you're staying but they always book a hotel there any holidays they have.

  8. Indulge in conversation with native Kerry men. You'll be mesmerised!

  9. I live in killarney, my wife is from a place called milltown which is about 2-3 mile from castlemaine, you are going to a very beautiful and very central to many different towns. Inch beach is only a couple of miles away, killarney is only 20 min so there is plenty to do and see there like muckross house and gardens, ross castle and the national park and the three lakes, it is also a good start point for the ring of kerry. you are also on the road to dingle. you will be kept busy on this trip.......... hope you have a great time, if you need any further information, just ask.....

  10. If the weather is good, you could drive around the Ring of Kerry, you need good weather to be able to see the fantastic scenery though.

Killarney is a hot spot for tourists and there's lots to see there.  You can walk through the National Park and see Ross Castle, again, if the weather is good, it is just beautiful there by the lake.  You can get the guided tour through the castle and then outside there are boats which will take you across the lake to the Isle of Innisfallen where in the sixth century the monks on the island complied the Annals of Innisfallen, one of the primary sources of history in Ireland from that time.

If you're in Killarney, you could also get a ride through Muckross and similar places on one of the horse and carts.  It's really nice but make sure you agree on a price BEFORE you set off.  I think it used to be around €50 for a round trip but I've heard of people being charged well over that for a trip.

Dingle is lovely too, the boat trips to see the dolphin, Fungi, are great.

    Enjoy your holiday!
