Ketchup Bottle?

Question

You know those stupid ketchup bottles that you get at a retaurant

Their glass bottles and you have to pound t for ever for it to come out

Has anyone found a trick yet for it to come out before i fall asleep

tap your hand near the tip of the bottle and turn the bottle sidways. or stick a knife in the bottle to open the area for the ketchup to run out.

Tip the Ketchup bottle over your food kinda horizontal with the plate (not vertical).  Then tap on the NECK of the bottle to get the flow started.

Pound the bottom of the bottle or just stick a knife in the bottle.

If they are the Heinz bottles then they have a little glass 57 on them about half way down.  Give the 57's a little tap while holding the bottle angled toward your plate and it comes right out!

Try hitting the 57 near the top or swing the bottle upside down in a circle in the air just make sure the cap is on tightly.

The typical method of holding it and pounding on the bottom isn't the best way. What you're doing is basically pounding the bottle down around the ketchup.

I don't know if I can explain this clearly but I found that if you hold the bottle in one hand and hit the tapered part of the bottle against your other hand that makes the ketchup come right out.

I know the answer to this because I am from the Ketchup capital of the world.  You hit the 57 with the palm of your hand while it is upside down.

There are 2 sure fire ways of getting the ketchup to begin to flow.  If your knife is clean (read unused) you can slip it into the neck of the bottle and allow a little air into the neck, the ketchup will then begin to flow out of the bottle.   The second way is to take a clean (unused) straw and again slip it into the neck of the bottle.  It will allow air into the bottle and the ketchup out.
