  1. dont be surprise is its true, for some reason Americans believe that all MUST have some type of animal flavoring to be good, for sure if it does specify on the label VEGAN, it will be

  2. I'm not a vegan, but I do know how important it is to make sure food items are vegan.

I would suggest searching for a vegan website or go to the library/bookstore so you can get the information you need.

Some Ketchup may contain "meat" flavoring, I'm not sure.  So I'd get your advice from a true source.

  3. i think that you better check your sources. the last time i checked tomatoes, spices and vinagar is what gives ketch-up it's flavors.

  4. Ketchup is vegetarian.  At least, any I have ever seen is.

I make my own, as some brands contain so many preservatives, which I try to avoid, where I can.  I use passata with a little sweetener, a slug of balsamic, and a drop or two of soy sauce .  It's lovely, and I make it in a large mustard squeezy bottle, and keep it in the fridge.

  5. ketchup is vegan.

    =]

  6. There aren't any beef flavors in ketchup, but there are a lot of ground up bugs, so you make the call.

Edit:  Ketchup is also primarily flavored with sugar, probably refined white sugar, which vegans complain alot about because something like 10% of it is whitened with bone char (basically, burned calcium).  So if that were the case, no, it wouldn't be vegan.

I don't know how you people deal with the paranoia over what tiny little ingredient may be in your food.  I see no way it Couldn't take over your life.

  7. no
