Kevin Anderson and Chanelle Scheepers to represent South Africa in Hopman Cup 2013 – Tennis News
South Africa had no representation in the Hyundai Hopman Cup since the days of Wayne Ferreira and Amanda Coetzer.
However, the next edition of the tournament will feature the likes of Kevin Anderson and the newlywed Chanelle Scheepers who will team up to take on the contestants from seven other countries at Perth, Australia. The Silver Jubilee edition of the tournament
will launch from 29th December to 5th January.
While conducting a press conference, Andersen stated, “The field is very strong this year but I believe that we can do well together. It's a fantastic event and it's also a good opportunity to help prepare for Sydney and the Australian Open.”
Scheepers was also present at the conference. She confessed, “I am very excited to represent South Africa at the Hopman Cup. It is a prestigious event with great tradition and I can't wait to be a part of it. I will have an opportunity to play three matches
against the world's best players which is a perfect way for me to prepare for the Australian Open. I am also lucky to have Kevin Anderson on my side, after having another fantastic season on the ATP tour.”
All the teams will are separated in two groups and the topper will meet each other in the final of the event. Following is the list of the teams separated by in two groups:

South African squad will be amongst the two teams that will commence the event on Saturday morning. They will take on the Spanish partners. Later in the day, it will be the German team squaring off against the home duo who will receive immense support from
the local supporters in the arena.
Serbia is the hot favourite to win the contest but the American duo is also capable of registering an upset next season.
