Kevin Anderson parts ways with coach Louis Vosloo – Tennis News
South African tennis ace Kevin Anderson has decided to part ways with his coach Louis Vosloo who trained him for over three years.
However, it was not a one-sided decision and both of them looked quite happy with what they have achieved together. They ended the relationship at a good note which is always a pleasant experience for anyone.
The 37th ranked Anderson clinched titles on two different tours since the commencement of his companionship with Vosloo. In April 2010, the two parties decided to work together. It was the time when the 26-year-old South African was ranked around world number
100. The two worked together and yielded fruitful returns. Vosloo helped the troubled youngster to improve the career-high ranking to world number 28.
On his break up with the coach, Anderson stated, “It’s been a great experience working with Louis. I feel like I have improved immensely under his guidance and will always respect and look up to him as a coach and a friend. He helped me grow as a person,
both on and off the court. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
The coach was content with his performance. He assured the media reporters that there were no hard feelings over the split up case. It was a decision taken by mutual consensus.
Vosloo confessed, “We had three good years and really enjoyed it. I'm thankful for having the opportunity to help him move from 100 to 28th in the world. We both learned a lot from each other and will remain good friends.”
The 26-year-old professional did not take part in the Davis Cup during the current year. It disappointed the local spectators who wanted the number one national to represent their country in a team event. The World Group playoff was against the talented
Canadian squad in September.
Anderson insisted that he was suffering from the knee injury but his participation in the lucrative World Team Tennis Finals extravaganza in Charleston, hosted alongside the Davis Cup playoff, infuriated the crowd.
However, the 37th ranked South African plans on washing out the spot by representing his country in the Hyundai Hopman Cup alongside the newlywed Chanelle Scheepers.
