Kevin Cordes pockets Men’s 200 yards breaststroke gold – AT&T Winter National Championships
Kevin Cordes of ZONAAZ pocketed gold medal of the Men’s 200 yards breaststroke on third day of the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, TX, USA on Saturday, December 1.
Cordes showed no mercy to his challengers in the distant breaststroke discipline as he transpired on the finishing end for gold medal.
With his immaculate efforts in the 200 yards discipline, Cordes remained prominently ahead of his challengers and reached the finishing blockade for the crown by producing a time of 1 minute and 50.73 seconds.
The champion was followed by Christopher Burckle of FORDAZ, who was 0.47 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 51.20 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Mike Alexandrov TROJCA, who stayed 1.04 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and reached the wall for bronze medal by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 52.24 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Austen Thompson of FORDAZ, who suffered a loss of 2.49 seconds from his preceding and reached the finishing end by clocking a time of 1 minute and 54.73 seconds.
Thompson was followed by Cody Miller of IU-IN, who stayed only 0.16 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 54.89 seconds for fifth position.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Bradley Craig of VOLSSE, who was 0.22 seconds behind and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 55.11 seconds.
Craig was traced by Chase Kalisz of NBACMD, who was 1.32 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and ended his race in a time of 1 minute and 56.43 seconds for seventh position.
Last position of the event was obtained by Carl Mickelson of ZONAAZ, who was 0.97 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 57.40 seconds.
In addition, Cordes received massive appreciation from the audience for his tremendous efforts in the breaststroke discipline and collected accolades at the prize distribution ceremony after the event.
