Laura Sogar occupies Women’s 200m breaststroke gold – Swimming news
Laura Sogar of Una Txla-ST occupied gold medal of Women’s 200m breaststroke on day two of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at George F. Haines International Swim Center on Friday, May 31.
The 22-year-old Sogar stifled hopes of her opponents in the 200m discipline and rushed her way towards the finishing end for gold medal.
With her commendable pace, she stayed in a comfortable lead over her opponents and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 26.53 seconds.
The gold medallist was traced by Micah Lawrence of SwimMAC Carolina, who stayed almost 0.80 seconds slower and touched the wall for silver medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 27.32 seconds.
The second best finisher was traced by Caitlin Leverenz of California Aquatics, who was only 0.05 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort 2 minutes and 27.35 seconds.
The fourth best finisher was chased by Annie Zhu of North Baltimore, who showed no leniency to her challenger and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 27.42 seconds.
Fifth best finisher of the race was obtained by Martha McCabe of Swim ON, who remained only half a body length behind and settled on the finishing end by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 27.96 seconds.
The 23-year-old McCabe of Katlin Freeman of SBSC-CA, who was 0.19 seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 28.15 seconds.
Sixth best finisher was chased by Jenna Strauch of Australia, who was only 0.36 seconds slower from upsetting her foregoing finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 28.51 seconds for seventh place.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Katie Olsen of Una Stan-PC, who was two seconds slower and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 30.51 seconds.
Furthermore, Sogar expressed happiness over her notable pace in the four lap discipline whereas the position holders were called upon the medal rostrum for awards and accolades at the victory ceremony of the event.
