The former Genk attacker’s employers did not want him to sign for the Bundesliga club, but the young player was happy to take the decision in order to gain first team experience

where he could get more playing time.
However, the winger was interested to join Bremen and did so after long discussions with the club officials of the Bundesliga outfit. The sporting director Klaus Allofs stated that they had to convince the attacker to move to the
River Islanders, and assured him of regular first team berth.
The talented midfielder got excited by the Green-Whites plans and stressed that he is glad to have come to the German side.
"We persisted and explained to him what we had in mind. He was fascinated by our ideas. And he now told me again: 'I'm happy that I play for Werder Bremen’,” he added.
Allofs further added that the 21-year-old’s remarks are nothing serious as he is trying to settle down at the club. The attacking midfielder has four years left on his Chelsea deal and is hoping to make a name for himself at the
Blues. Therefore, he was obliged to say particular things required by his permanent employers.

"[De Bruyne] has a four-year-contract at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. It's not wrong that it's his dream to play for Chelsea one day. He will do anything to say the right thing from the perspective of the club that has paid tons of money for him,” he mused.

"Chelsea has people who take care of the loaned-out players, people who call every two weeks,” he finally stated.
The English side has professionals who handle the loaned-out youngsters, and keep in touch with their future prospects. As a result, if he had conceded that he would like to extend his time with Bremen, that would hamper his chances
of representing Chelsea in the future.
