Kevin Doo captures Men’s 200m freestyle gold – 2013 CeraVe Invitational
Kevin Doo of SCAR-NJ captured gold medal of the Men’s 200m freestyle in 13-14 year olds category on opening day of the 2013 CeraVe Invitational at Berkeley Aquatic Club, on Friday, January 11, 2013.
The 14-year-old Doo showered his expertise in the 200m discipline and proved his mettle for gold medal. With his notable pace, he remained in a prominent lead over his challengers and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal.
With his gruelling start, he remained almost half body length ahead of his following swimmer and stepped on the victory stand for gold medal by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 03.78 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Dylan Vanmanen of LIAC-MR, who was 0.75 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 04.53 seconds.
Third spot of the race was obtained by Connor Doyle of EEX-NJ, who was 1.02 seconds away from upsetting his preceding finisher and reached the wall for bronze medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 05.55 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Justin Torres of SCAR-NJ, who was 0.99 seconds away from his former finisher and settled on the wall for fourth position by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 06.54 seconds.
Torres was chased by jack McIntyre of EEX-NJ, who was one and a half body length slower and surfaced on the wall for fifth position by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 07.92 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained y Josh Parker of BAC-NJ, who was 0.16 seconds apart and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 08.08 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was secured by Chris Balbo of SCAR-NJ, who stayed 1.30 seconds apart and concluded his race in a time of 2 minutes and 09.38 seconds.
Last position of the event was obtained by Eric Wong of SCAR-NJ, who was only 0.09 seconds behind and posted a time of 2 minutes and 09.47 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable forms at the victory ceremony of the event.
