Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle has given http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 fans something to cheer about, as the mercurial forward went on to put pen to paper on a new four year contract with the club.
The striker’s future at the club had been the subject of a lot of questions, as it was previously reported that European giants Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 were both looking to land the player and secure his services.
Despite that fact, the twenty eight year old went on to reveal that his future was never a doubt, as he always knew that he would be sticking around with his team.
When talking about his stay at the club and putting pen to paper on a new contract, Doyle is quoted to have said: “I'm delighted to have signed the new contract”
“It's something we've talked about for a while and to be honest it's been agreed for a while between myself and the manager and it was just a case of everything getting it all sorted.
"I don't really think there was anything in the speculation this summer.”
He then went on to reveal that Mick McCarthy and him had talked about his contract one the first day of the pre-season, which is why he remained so calm during all the confusion that the media was creating.
"I'd actually spoken to the gaffer on the very first day of pre-season when we talked about this contract and I was keen to get it done. I am very happy here and am just looking forward to carrying on with the season."
McCarthy, along with the rest of the Wolves squad is quite delighted to have seen Doyle extend his stay.
With Doyle now guaranteed to be at Wolves in the future, the team can now look to try and perfect their chemistry and hopefully aim for a top half finish at the end of the season.
The team has already been doing fairly well this season, but with this new confidence boost, they are bound to get a positive push taking to the field in the near future.
