Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose: Top Active players in NBA without a Championship ring (Part-2)
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is the face of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He is the player around which the Thunder have built a young team, which took down one team after another last season and made way into the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
In his third year, Durant has been the NBA scoring champion in the last two seasons, however, he is yet to get his hands on the prestigious NBA title.
Unlike LeBron James, Durant is still very young and celebrated his 23rd birthday only recently. With the likes of Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Serge Ibaka and the experienced Kendrick Perkins alongside him, he still
has a lot of time to achieve that feat. During the three seasons in NBA, Kevin Durant has averaged 25.9 points and 6.3 rebounds and these figures will only go up with as he gains more experience.
It was the lack of experience last season which resulted in the defeat against the Mavs in the conference finals, but with most of the Western conference elites aging fast, he is all set to start an era of championships for OKC.
Derrick Rose
Ever since the Michael Jordan Championship era ended, Chicago Bulls struggled big time to continue their legacy and were turned down every season by the Eastern Conference elites on the big platform.
However the epic emergence of the sharp-shooter Derrick Rose in the 2008 NBA Draft brought the team back on the winning track. Coming into the professional league, the Simeon Career Academy standout Rose guided the team into the
play-offs successively in all of the three seasons almost singlehandedly, a task which had become very difficult for the Bulls after the hall of famer Jordan retired.
In the last season, Derrick Rose helped Chicago finish as the top seed in the Eastern Conference and powered the line-up into the Conference Finals. However the lack of experience and absence of a second offensive option resulted
in a 4-1 rout. The Heat, powered by the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, choked Rose at the big stage and then clinically disposed off the Bulls.
Rose might not have a championship ring at moment however, with the kind of talent and influence Rose has on the court, it’s not impractical to say that the young NBA All-star will be retiring with a number of NBA titles. He was
the youngest ever player to become an MVP last season and with a bit of support on the Bulls roster, the Bulls point guard can go on to achieve glory in the coming years.
