Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Mike Conley: Top Performers from the May 3rd playoff games (Part-2)
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant (KD), the scoring machine who has paced the league in scoring for the last two years, racked up yet another electrifying performance on Tuesday night. KD posted a game-high 26 points and also gathered 6 rebounds to
power the Oklahoma City (OKC) Thunder to a 111-102 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at the Oklahoma City Arena. Durant and company managed to hold down Grizzlies’ prolific guard Zach Randolph as the Thunder tied the Western Conference semi-final series 1-1.
The influential forward was equally dominant in both the halves of the game as he landed 13 points in each to spearhead OKC.
Russell Westbrook
Like always, Russell Westbrook played a supporting role for the Thunder. He not only scored 24 of his own points but created space and many scoring opportunities for his team. He also handed out 6 assists on the night. Grizzlies
coach Lionel Hollins said on Thunder’s performance which was impressively led by the spirited duo, "They were just more aggressive, they came out and attacked us and just didn't have enough fight in us."
James Harden
The 21-year-old shooting guard didn’t let the super effort of Durant and Westbrook go in vain and supported the team down the stretch. Harden came off the bench and notched up 21 points and 5 assists in the game. Harden was quite
impressive in the final 12 minutes of the game and scored 9 of his 21 points as the Oklahoma City raced away to a brilliant victory.
Mike Conley
Memphis Grizzlies’ guard Mike Conley posted an impressive performance however his efforts fell short against the brilliance of Oklahoma City’s offensive battery. Conley ended the night with a team-high 24 points and a game-high
8 assists. In the fourth quarter, Conley scored 9 points, including two scorching blows from beyond the arc, however the Thunder back court reduced the efficiency of the rest of his team-mates as OKC rolled on to a win.
Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol had a magnificent double-double on the night as he joined the action with Conley. However the 26-year-old centre, lacked support from the remaining starters which ultimately resulted in Grizzlies defeat. Gasol racked
up 13 points, clutched 10 rebounds and dished out 3 assists on the night.
