31 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds – Game 2
The second significant performance from Kevin Durant came in the second game of the series, but unfortunately for him and the Oklahoma City Thunder, it was not enough to stop a rampant Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.
In a 120-111 loss, the Spurs led by as many as 22 points in the second half, before Durant and James Harden pulled the Thunder back within seven deep in the fourth. However every time OKC tried to rally, the Spurs counter punched
before rolling on to a 120-111 win.
Durant scored only 4 of his points in the fourth quarter. He was 10 of 17 from the field including 3 of 4 from the three point range and also made all of his 8 free throws. KD also had five assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Durant went to the charity stripe 56 times in the series and only missed five of his attempts.
36 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds – Game 4
After scoring a series low 22 points in a 102-82 game 3 win, Kevin Durant turned the heat on the Spurs with 36 points, 8 dimes and 6 boards to fuel to 109-103 win and help Thunder the series at 2 all.
Durant was 13 of 20 on the night and also made all of his 9 free throw attempts. Durant score 18 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter as Thunder capitalized on a 4 point lead at the end of the third quarter to run away with the
game.
34 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists – Game 6
Kevin Durant saved his best performance of the series for the Game 6. With a chance to close out the series at home, the 6 ft 9 in forward erupted with a 34 point – 14 rebound double-double and complemented it with 5 assists and
2 blocks as OKC won 107-99.
With Durant just scoring 14 points, the Spurs were leading by 63-48 at the break, but couldn’t sustain their offensive intensity. To make the matter worse, Durant heated up and when that happened, Spurs melted down completely.
