Kevin Durant: Performance Roundup in the 2011 NBA Western Conference Semi-Finals (Part 4)
Game-7: Oklahoma City Thunder 105 – Memphis Grizzlies 90
A noisy sell-out crowd and the star cast of the Oklahoma City Thunder lifted them above as they blow past the Memphis Grizzlies 105-90 in game-7 of the Western Conference Semifinals and booked a date with the Dallas Mavericks in
the Conference Finals. The Thunder took the hard fought series 4-3.
Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins  heaped praise on Kevin Durant after the game, "We didn't make shots and we gave up 17 points in transition. They deserved to win, they earned this win. Durant showed the heart of a champion.
But I'm also proud of my team and where we are and where we're heading in the future."
OKC All-Stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook made big plays during the game. Durant jumped back from a poor 11-point performance in game-6 and led all scorers with his smashing 39 points on Sunday. Along with the points, Kevin
also clutched nine boards, blocked three shots and dished out two assists.
After the game Durant said, "I just attacked the basket. My teammates put me in good position to score. I was so upset with myself in Game Six I just wanted to be aggressive today. We stuck with playing our game and then let whatever
was gonna happen happen."
A reeling Durant, who scored just 11 points on three of 14 shooting in game-6, came up with some excellent shooting in game-7, as he shot 13 of 25 from the field.
Out of Durant’s 39 points, 21 came in the second half on a seven of 12 shooting. Kevin once again proved that he is one of the best when it comes to free throw shooting as he made all of his nine and also hit a bit low than 50
percent from the three-point range.
The young Thunder marshaled by their mercurial forward, Durant will now take on the veteran Dallas Mavericks. Durant has been an inspiration so far in the post season and if the Oklahoma City have to get anywhere near to the Larry
O’ Brien trophy, then he has to fire on all cylinder against the experienced Mavs and a certain Dirk Nowitzki.
