Kevin Durant commits to play in Josh Howard’s charity game: NBA Update
Washington Wizards shooting guard/ small forward Josh Howard has organized a basketball Celebrity All-Star Game this Saturday night at the Cobb Athletic Centre in Fair Park, which will benefit his charity foundation (Josh Howard Foundation).
This exhibition game will now feature the top scorer of the previous two seasons, Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant.
With the inclusion of the youngest player ever to win the National Basketball Association scoring title, this exhibition has gathered even more attention not just of the media, but also of the basketball fans, who can’t wait to see their favourite stars in action once again.
This is not the first exhibition game for Durant, as he had been on the exhibition tour of the country for a long time now.
As per Howard’s publicist, Durant’s arrival was made possible because of the several conversations between Howard and Durant. This exhibition game will also feature local boy LaMarcus Aldridge, who last played for the Portland Trail Blazers. Besides, Howard, upcoming point guard John Wall will also share floor in this event from the Wizards.
The other expected players for this charity games include Mavericks Damion James, Corey Brewer. Apart from these current Dallas players the fans will also get to see former Mavs DeSagana Diop and Marquis Daniels. Andre Blatche and Nick Young are also expected at the exhibition.
Howard’s career came to a halt after he got injured and then Dallas traded him to the Wizards, where he played just four games before his left knee got injured again.
The 31 year old Howard still holds a soft corner for his native city  and commented on his future;
"I’m just hoping to get the opportunity to continue where I left off at when I left Dallas, and that’s starting and contributing to whatever team and whatever they need me to do. I haven’t really thought about who I would fit in well with. I’m just going out there for the love of the game and, hopefully, I’ll get on the right team with the right players that will accept me."
The charity game will however provide him a good opportunity to test his fitness.
